Who We Are
MomLife began in the fall of 2017 with two moms—Melanie Hill and Christy Crosby—and a team of some fun and creative friends. We had a simple and clear vision in mind: to see groups of moms in all ages and stages connect to God and each other through community. Understanding that being a mom can feel isolating and lonely, we wanted to create a safe space for moms to come together and be seen, cared for, loved, and spurred on in their faith in Christ and who he has created them to be.
After four years in its founding church (Grace Community Church in Clarksville, TN), Melanie and Christy saw the need to expand MomLife. We wanted to reach moms outside of our church, in our community, and beyond. In the spring of 2021, Melanie decided to launch MomLife Ministries, and she hopes it’s a helpful tool for both churches and individual moms who want to gather with groups of friends to talk about life, faith, and how the two deeply interact.
MomLife Ministries is here to provide teachings, training, ideas, resources, and tools that are adaptable to any group of moms—be it in a home setting, coffee shop, or large church gathering. The first steps in building connections often feel awkward and challenging, so we hope to make it a little easier.
MomLife Ministries is fully led by volunteers who are passionate about loving on and serving other mommas.
Our Board of Directors
Founder & CEO
Melanie Hill is a stay-at-home mom with a master's degree in professional counseling and over 15 years of ministry experience. She's been married for 14 years to her best friend, greatest support, and king of all dad jokes. She's mom to an 8-year-old daughter who is so full of life, energy, emotions, and joy. She's a longtime lover of pizza and ice cream, family games, cooking, and whatever is the least sweaty form of gardening. For her, being a mom is both a great joy, a great challenge, and every little thing in between.
Chief Strategy Officer
Christy Crosby serves on the staff of Grace Community Church in women’s ministry & outreach. She's been married 22 years to her high school sweetheart. She's a mom of two teenagers: a college-bound daughter & a middle school son. She finds so much joy in this season of parenting and is a life-long learner who loves to read and listen to podcasts. An entertainment junkie, she loves knitting and good coffee.
Chief Support Officer
Kara Honbarger is a stay-at-home mom of three beautiful daughters: 2 high schoolers and a college student. She's been married 22 years to the love of her life, a retired Army chaplain. She's passionate about Christ and the way He rocks our worlds. When she gets a break from the hustle and bustle of life, she's watching Friends and singing the theme song off-key.
Chief Church Consultant
Ashley Knowles is a full-time momma of a 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son. She works part-time as a discipleship staff member at the Madison Street United Methodist Church in Clarksville, TN. Kimberly Wootten is a naptime-working mom to a very active 3-year-old boy whose love for the outdoors rivals her own. She's been married for 7 years to her best friend, an Army Aviator stationed at Fort Campbell. She's a lover of learning and reading. You'll find her listening to podcasts as often as possible. She finds delight in bringing order, organization, and creativity to ministries like MomLife.
Chief Technical Officer
Angela Edwards has been married for 24 years to her best friend. She's a mom of two amazing twenty-something daughters and loves music—especially singing. She often pretends that life is a musical. When she's not singing, she's reading, making things, doing nerdy tech stuff, talking with people, and having fun (shout out to her fellow Enneagram 7's). She loves learning more and more about her Savior. She's never not in awe of him.
Chief Prayer Officer and Virtual Lead
Cindy Smith is a mom to two 20-something daughters. She's been married for 30 years and loves her family, animals, the beach, and ice cream. The primary caretaker of her elderly mom, she finds joy in the everyday. The beauty in God’s creation, especially flowers, brings a smile to her face. Her strength is found in walking with the Lord. She loves praying for strength and confidence for moms as they love those God has placed in their lives.
Chief Administrative Officer
Erin Reed is stay-at-home-mom turned business manager for her husband's dental office. She's a mom of a 6-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter who keep life entertaining. She's been married for 10 years to her very best friend. She's excited to establish roots in their home state of West Virginia after 7 years of military life. She loves evening walks, family movie nights, Chick-fil-a, and doing whatever sounds fun.
